Violeta Maluendres González
An artist and curator working with archives, memory, and decolonial research.
Violeta Maluendres González works with archives as living material, turning research into installations that ask to be entered rather than read.
Her project Eclipse de Kreeh: Selk’nam Archive , shown at Bardo Projektraum, takes the work of anthropologist Anne Chapman as a point of departure to explore the memory, rituals, and worldview of the Selk’nam people of Tierra del Fuego. Through a feminist and decolonial lens, it foregrounds translation, care, and collaboration.
She conceived the exhibition as an “archaeological office of memory” — an archive activated through presence, participation, and attention rather than fixed as historical narrative. She curated it together with Carla Andrade.
