Bruno Giliberto
Based in Santiago and Berlin
A photographer working with large-format analogue images, field sound, and archival research.
Bruno Giliberto (b. 1981, Santiago de Chile) lives and works between Santiago and Berlin. Originally trained as an architect at the Universidad de Chile, he later completed a Master’s degree in Visual Arts at the Universitat de Barcelona.
His practice combines large-format analogue photography, four-channel field sound recordings, and archival research, developed through long-term projects including MAREA and Rites. Rather than treating photography as documentation, he uses the photographic image as a tool for sustained research into territories and their histories, and into the construction of visual knowledge.
His work has been exhibited at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo (MAC) in Santiago and forms part of the collection of the Chilean State.
Participating artist in Miradas a Chile / Sichtweisen auf Chile .
